We are looking for a Legal Assistant to work closely with the lawyers with our Indigenous and Commercial Law team, at the Montreal Office. The selected person will be responsible for providing legal and administrative support to the lawyers on her team.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist lawyers in formatting, transcribing, editing and drafting various administrative and legal documents, in English and to a lesser extent in French;
- Follow up on e-mail, postal and telephone communications;
- Manage the organization of digital and physical files, as well as their daily filing;
- Follow up files with his team;
- Collaborate with lawyers to finalize transactions;
- Organize meetings when required;
- Organize travel (transportation, hotels, etc.) when required; and
- Perform any other related tasks.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Vocational diploma in Legal Secretarial Studies or college diploma in Legal Techniques, or other relevant training;
- Bilingualism (English and French);
- Attention to details, and rigor;
- Resourcefulness, versatility, and flexibility; and
- Good team spirit.
